Installation guide

Fifteen minutes, one person, any solid wall.

Before you start

A Steadyrack fits any solid wall: brick, concrete or a timber stud. Fitting takes about fifteen minutes and one person. You will need a drill, a level, a tape measure and the fixings supplied with the rack.

Fitting the rack

  1. Decide the mounting height. The rack should sit so the front wheel lifts into the cradle comfortably, usually around 1.8 metres from the floor to the top of the rack.
  2. Mark the fixing holes using the rack as a template, checking the level as you go.
  3. Drill the holes and fit the supplied plugs. On a stud wall, fix directly into the stud.
  4. Bolt the rack to the wall and check it is firm before loading a bike.
  5. Lift the front wheel into the cradle and swing the bike flat against the wall.

Spacing multiple racks

If you are fitting more than one rack, stagger the heights so handlebars and pedals clear each other. The spacing guide below gives the exact measurements for side by side and staggered layouts.
